Pamela_P Style Challenge
The Pamela_P Style Challenge came about for a couple of reasons. As a new brand, we were eager to get some great content for use in our on-line Pamela_P Paper. We were also keen to connect with ladies that I like and admire and who have a great sense of style. It seemed obvious to hear the comments of our favourite women – the opinions of women with a wide range of interests, not just the fashion bunnies! They’re invited to select a Percivale bag from the Core, Directional or Special ranges and to style it however they like. Our challengers also contribute great tips and information through an interview.
First up for the Pamela_P Style Challenge is Rita Colson @colsonstyletheory. We met last year while working together as volunteers for a charity. I was struck by her unique style and sense of fun. We kept in touch and I asked her if she would be interested in being the first lady to take up the pamela_p style challenge.
Rita chose some classic pieces to wear with the Percivale Directional in Ivory & Black. Her red v-neck sweater is from Zara and her navy blue sailor trousers are by H & M. My photographer shot her at the British Museum as we’re both fans of the Great Court which is always bright and sunny, even on the darkest days. The central space of the Museum was redesigned in 2000 and includes an incredible glass roof to cover the inner courtyard. A key aspect of the new design was that with every step in the Great Court the vista would change, allowing the visitor a new view on their surroundings.
Pamela_P Style Challenge Interview
HAVE YOU ENJOYED USING THE PERCIVALE BAG AND WHY?
I enjoyed using the Percival bag on the shoot. I thought it would be the ultimate party bag because it’s small enough to be discreet and hollow enough to carry your essentials like a phone, lipstick, mascara and a small compact powder.
WHO ARE YOUR STYLE ICONS?
WHAT ARE YOUR EXPERT FASHION TIPS?
My fashion tip would be, don’t follow trends but develop your own ‘unique’ style. Not every trend will suit you and that’s ok. Stick to classic pieces as they never go out of style. If you must follow a trend and you’re not sure stick to accessories and mix it in with your own style. Don’t buy something because it’s what all the magazines are promoting. Buy it because you love it and it suits you. Sounds very simple but we’ve all fallen victim to trends one way or another.

ANY TIPS FOR ASPIRING ENTREPRENEURS?
1) You have to be your biggest cheerleader and believe in your dream.
2) Be consistent
3) Be wise as not everyone is your friend
4) Study and learn your field and craft
